STUDIO BUMI

What started off as lunch parties for friends in 2023 has since grown into Studio Bumi. At this weekly communal dinner, Indonesian-born, Brooklyn-based founder Bagus Wicaksono Ruswandi invites friends and strangers alike as a way to combat urban loneliness. More than a supper club, it is rooted in the belief that "connection does not happen accidentally." As Ruswandi puts it, "it has to be designed, hosted, and practiced.”

That’s why when you attend a Studio Bumi dinner, you’re never just a guest. Come back a second time, and you might find yourself on the other side of the table hosting, cooking, or even helping run the evening, because at Studio Bumi, the point isn’t simply to share a meal but to create a kind of joy that grows and makes room for others.
