CAPTURING TIME

Every film has its own timeline and way of unfolding. In All That’s Left of You (2026), time may appear linear, but the story shows how displacement, no matter how long ago, ripples across generations. Fatih Akin’s The Edge of Heaven (2007), meanwhile, interweaves the lives of six individuals between Germany and Turkey, where chance encounters quietly set off a chain of events that reshape each of their paths. Then there are TV series like Pachinko (2022-2024) that move fluidly between decades, tracing one Korean family’s journey from colonial Korea to life in Japan and reminding us that the past is never fully past.

Across these works, time feels less like something measured and more like a mosaic of scattered moments that gradually reveal a larger picture.
