CASA BOSQUES CHOCOLATE
Chocolatier and creative director, Rafael Prieto’s journey traces how devotion to craft, sustained by self-trust, is an act of love at its core.
For Rafael Prieto, founding Casa Bosques Chocolate in 2020 was not simply a matter of business; it was the perfect recipe of enduring passion and the kind of conviction that comes from lived experience. Growing up in northern Mexico with an obsession with chocolate already ingrained, Prieto then moved to Montreal, San Francisco, Spain, and Berlin, in search of his place in the world.
After years of moving through different cities, Prieto reached a breaking point and was ready to reject it all: his studies, the traditional path, the notion of belonging to society altogether. Then, in 2002, he traveled to Paris, and something crystallized. Surrounded by Parisian design and galleries, he declared, “I need to belong in this world.” Choosing to claim space rather than retreat from it is an act of self-love that does not always come easily. Prieto’s journey shows us what is possible when you trust yourself — your own point of view, your dreams, and your future.
He “became fascinated by global culture and how something as simple as chocolate could connect people and ideas.” Now, in 2026, with roots both in Mexico City and New York, Prieto is not just part of this world; he is actively shaping it through Casa Bosques Chocolate, Casa Bosques Librería, and Savvy Studio. In all of his work, it is marked by a quiet elegance and finesse, but what is loud is his unwavering dedication to artistry. Prieto shows us that loving ourselves enough to trust our craftsmanship is a way we can carve our place in the world.
